NEWS

27/04/2007 - The league is moving to a new venue from 2nd May. Rockingham Triangle is the new home. We will continue to play from 7pm to 9pm on Wednesdays. We will have to change the day/times in October 2007.

05/03/2007 - League Coordinator, Nick Pinnock has been appointed as Secretary on The UKDBA Committee. Nick’s first task is to organise and promote the British Championship, being held in Leicester on 13th may.

28/02/2007 - The start of the Spring 2007 Season has been postponed until 9th May. This is to give us time to recruit more players, more teams and to find a new venue.

06/01/2007 - The league’s first AGM was held on 3rd January 2007. There were some changes made to how the league is to be run:

1. There will be an annual £10.00 Registration Fee payable to the league before a team’s first match. This will be to cover the teams’ UKDBA Registration Fees. Match Fees will remain at £15.00 per week, providing there are at least 5 teams.

2. There was some concern over the standard of refereeing, especially with regard to players’ behavior. Every effort will be made to bring standards up to an acceptable level.

3. Kay Stobbart suggested a mixed-team tournament, where players are drawn at random, as this gives players from teams lower in the league an opportunity to win a trophy. This will be implemented at the end of the Winter 2007 Season.

21/12/2006 - Winter 2007 Season kicks off with an Open Night on 10th January. Doors open at 7 pm. Entry Fee is £1.00 per person. This is an ideal opportunity for new players to try out dodgeball and experienced players to clear out the cobwebs after a 3-week break and have some fun.

League points awarded as follows:

Win = 10 points

Draw = 5 points

Bonus Point = 1 Point

Bonus Points are awarded for Game Points as follows:

(Bonus Points are awarded for Game Points earned for each match, not the league total.)

1-5 Game Points = 1 pt.

6-10 Game Points = 2 pts.

11-15 Game Points = 3 pts.

16-20 Game Points = 4 pts.

21-25 Game Points = 5 pts.

26-30 Game Points = 6 pts.

31-35 Game Points = 7 pts.

36-40 Game Points = 8 pts.

41-42 Game Points = 9 pts.

When a team forfeits a match, the winning team will be awarded a 7-0 win. 1 Game  Point will added to the winning team’s total for each Game and 2 Bonus Points will be awarded for the 7 Game Points that a team wins due to the forfeit.

The league position is determined by League Points. If teams are tied on League Points, then Games Won-Lost difference will determine which team has the higher position. If teams are still tied, then the Win-Draw-Loss record will be the deciding factor. Then by the Game Points won, if necessary . If teams can still not be separated, then their head-to-head record will decide how the teams are placed.
