Kettering DodgeBall League Regulations
1. Matches will be played under Kettering DodgeBall League Match Rules and Regulations, which are based on UKDBA Match Rules.
2. It is the responsibility of the team captain / manager to ensure all club players are aware of all rules and regulations associated with the league.
3. Teams must complete the Team Registration sheet to register into a league. Teams must pay the registration fee by the first week of a league. The Team Registration fee must be paid annually, before a team’s first competitive match after 1st January, each year.
4. All players in a team must be at least 16 years of age, before the end of the calendar year in which that season is being played. Team Captains must be at least 18 years of age, before the start of the season.
5. Upon registration to the league, all teams will be affiliated to the UKDBA by Kettering DodgeBall League.
6. Postponements must be made prior to the commencement of that week’s scheduled matches. When teams forfeit a match during the season they will automatically lose the game 7–0 in league play or 5-0 in competitions.
7. The competition will follow a league basis. Ten points will be awarded for a win, five points for a draw, and no points for a loss. Bonus points will be awarded on the basis of Game Points (i.e. the number of players on court at the end of each game) won. Teams will be placed in the league in order of total league points, then by games won-lost difference, then by matches won-drawn-lost record, then by Game Points won and, if teams can still not be separated, by head-to-head results in the season.
8. Teams shall be placed within divisions as determined by the league organizers.
9. We will issue a full fixture list at the beginning of every season. After this it is the team’s responsibility to follow these correctly.
10. Teams must pay the appropriate match fee to the on site coordinator by cash or cheque prior to the start of play each week.
11. Teams shall keep a register of playing members. This register of players can be added to but it must be kept up to date.
12. There is no limit to the amount of players you are permitted in your squad provided we have their details on the team sheet. Awards will however be limited to 10 per qualifying team.
13. Teams will be 6 a side, unless otherwise specified.
14. The team must arrive fifteen minutes before their game commences, so that you are ready to start on time and we can also settle your match fees.
15. Players must wear appropriate footwear i.e. non-marking trainers.
16. All leagues will run under the jurisdiction of the UKDBA. Players should be aware that cautionable offences may result in fines and bans from any competition run by the UKDBA.
17. A team may change their name once they have registered but this can only be done between seasons.
18. Taunting will result in a player or team warning for the first offence. The second offence by a team results in the forfeit of the game. Repeated offences will cause the match to be forfeited by the offending team.
19. Foul language, poor sportsmanship or continued questioning of the officials judgement will result in the game currently being played too forfeited by the offending team and that player being ejected from the match. The match continues if games remain with offending team playing with 5 players for the remainder of the match. The player who is sent off shall not be allowed to take any further part in the league on that day and may receive a ban from league play for a longer period.
20. Each sending off offence will be accompanied by a £10 fine to the team.
21. No substitute is allowed for a player dismissed for misconduct during the game in which the offence occurred.
22. Any fighting will result in the immediate disqualification from all UKDBA affiliated leagues for all the people involved. This may also result in the removal of whole teams.
23. Any Kettering DodgeBall League or UKDBA official, or coordinator, can act as a third official and can report any incident on or off the pitch to the referee or league organizers. Such reports can lead to fines or bans.
24. All appeals / grievances regarding league or cup competitions must be made in writing to Kettering DodgeBall League within 5 days of the incident.
25. In the unlikely event your opposition doesn’t turn up we will always try to arrange a friendly.
26. Should the appointed referee fail to appear for a fixture then Kettering DodgeBall League will arrange for a suitable replacement to officiate the game at short notice. Teams will be asked to supply referees for matches they are not playing.
27. Teams can have up to 2 guest players as long as the referee & opposing team agrees before start of play and the referee doesn’t feel the games outcome will be dramatically altered.
28. If a guest player is disciplined during the game then the team manager is still liable for any fine imposed.
29. First Aid is not provided by the Kettering DodgeBall League. Teams should make their own first aid provisions.
30. If in the event of an ambulance being called and a subsequent charge being made by the ambulance service then you and your team shall be liable for that cost.
31. Games will be played in a public area. Hence the highest standards of behaviour are expected from all participants. All participants are expected to show appropriate respect and courtesy towards opponents, teammates and officials alike. Failure to adhere to this rule may lead to a caution or sending off.
32. In the event of a team leaving the league, a replacement will be found as quickly as possible and will inherit the previous teams points and game difference. Should a replacement not be found, all future fixtures will be awarded to the opposition 7-0.
33. If a team does not pay their match fees they will not be allowed to play.
34. Teams who do not clear their arrears can and will face legal action.
35. Cheques should be made payable to Kettering DodgeBall League, a charge of £10 will be issued to any person whose cheque is returned by our bank unpaid, to cover costs.
36. Trophies will not be awarded to any qualifying team who has not cleared any arrears by the final date of the league finishing.
37. Kettering DodgeBall League reserves the right to prohibit any player or team from participating in any game arranged by us. Failure to adhere to any of the rules may lead to such prohibition.
38. The league accepts no responsibility for the loss of or damage to any property belonging to teams or any other person. Personal possessions in changing rooms or courtside are left entirely at owner’s own risk.
39. Parking - Users of the parking facilities at a venue should position their vehicles in such a manner as to allow adequate access for emergency services. Vehicles should be parked in an orderly fashion and not in a way that causes annoyance or inconvenience to the occupiers of any private property. In particular vehicles should not be parked on grassed areas adjacent to designated parking areas or entrances.
40. The league accepts no responsibility for the loss of or damage to vehicles. Parked vehicles whether in a designated parking area or not are left entirely at the drivers/owners own risk.
41. It is recommended that teams that have their own comprehensive personal accident insurance in place for each of its players.
42. Participation in any sporting activity is entirely at the players and teams own risk and the organisers, their agents or servants do not accept liability for any personal injury or loss/damage to property howsoever caused.
43. Kettering DodgeBall League will maintain liability insurance cover, as required by any venues where dodgeball is played under its supervision.
44. The league organisers reserve the right to alter any rule at any time. All teams will be notified of any changes.
RULES OF PLAY
The rules are in place for your safety and ours. We consider the rules as basic as they can be, but also fair. At all times you must adhere to the rules.
45. Substitutions can be made after every game.
46. The games will be held over a 15-minute time slot with games starting according to the fixture list. Any team not ready within two minutes of the published start time will play the remainder of the allotted time as the full fixture. Any team not ready to start within 2 minutes of their scheduled stat time will forfeit the game7-0.
47. All leagues will run under the jurisdiction of the UKDBA. Players should be aware that cautionable offences may result in fines and bans from any competition run by Kettering DodgeBall League and the UKDBA.
48. The referee’s decision is final.
49. Variations in the facilities at venues may lead to slight variations in these rules. Therefore, Kettering DodgeBall League reserves the right to alter any rule at any time. Teams will be notified of any changes.
